How the Minato Premium Backpack Expansion Works
Minato Premium is designed to adapt to your day - whether you're heading to work, into the city, or away for the weekend. Thanks to its smart expandable-volume system, you can change the backpack's size in just a few seconds to suit your current needs.
Three Sizes, One Backpack
- 20 L - Compact mode: Ideal for everyday carry. The top section is rolled down and secured with a Fidlock® magnetic buckle. The backpack is slim, elegant, and holds its shape well.
- 30 L - Medium mode: Simply roll up the top section and fasten it with the buckles. You'll have more space for a sweatshirt, laptop, or gear for the whole day.
- 40 L - Fully expanded mode: The top section unfolds completely and the side compression straps are loosened. At that point, your city backpack becomes a full-sized backpack for weekends or travel.
How to Expand the Backpack
- Unfasten the top Fidlock® magnetic buckles.
- Unroll the roll-top section upward - the fabric is soft and flexible, so it unfolds effortlessly.
- Loosen the side compression straps - this frees up space for the top section to expand fully.
- Fill the backpack as needed - the construction and internal reinforcements ensure that it remains stable even when expanded.
- Once filled, roll the top section down again and secure it with the buckle in the new position.

Technology and Materials
Every Minato Premium backpack is handmade in the Czech Republic from CORDURA® 1000D material. This technical material is known for its high resistance to abrasion, water, and UV radiation. The C0 DWR finish repels water without using harmful fluorocarbons.
Thanks to these technologies, the backpack stays dry even in the rain, retains its shape when fully loaded, and lasts much longer than standard backpacks made from ordinary textiles.
